Description
Japanese antique black ink painting “Emakimono” scrolls circa early 20th Century singed with the traditional Hanko seal
The text at the top right of the painting is, as usual, a poem. It reads something like this: “omowagaya tsuku ze, Ko Momoka ruda to mimera mato gumuo.” It seems to convey the idea of transcendental thought being similar to the scent of walnuts (not sure on meaning)
The second painting consists of calligraphy and a seal: “jonichi tabi ryo” (day after day travel). “Ryo Tamagozai” is probably the artist’s pseudonym
