Description

Vintage RUMTOPF jar in glazed ceramic made in WEST GERMANY by the SCHEURICH Company for the storage of fruit soaked in rum, a traditional German way of enjoying summer fruit in the winter, as part of the Christmas celebration. The Rumtopf is an attractive piece of pottery and has certainly a collectible value. It looks great on display and can be used for storing other foodstuffs. This RUMTOPF is model number 826-36 in a nice amphora shape with scrolled handles decorated with hand painted apple, grapes and strawberry on a glossy glaze background in a great beige-greyish and caramel-brown inside colour. Marked on the base 826-36, W. GERMANY.
